عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ السَّيَّارِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ مِنْ مُرِّ الْعَيْشِ النُّقْلَةُ مِنْ دَارٍ إِلَى دَارٍ وَ أَكْلُ خُبْزِ الشِّرَى .

1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from al-Sayyariy, from a shaykh from a certain persons of our people from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “Of the bitterness in life is moving from one house to another house and eating bread made of colocynth.’” 

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ مَنْ كَسَبَ مَالًا مِنْ غَيْرِ حِلِّهِ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْبِنَاءَ وَ الْمَاءَ وَ الطِّينَ .

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hisham ibn al-Hakam who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one earns an asset through unlawful means Allah overpowers him by means of building, water and clay.”’ 

ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ مُوسَى ( عليه السلام ) وَ قَدْ بَنَى بِمِنًى بِنَاءً ثُمَّ هَدَمَهُ .

3. Ibn abu ‘Umayr has narrated from Husayn ibn ‘Uthman man who has said the following: “I once saw abu al-Hassan (a.s.), in Mina where he built a structure, then destroyed it.’” 

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ الرَّقِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ إِنْ مِنْ شَيْ‏ءٍ إِلَّا يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَ لكِنْ لا تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ قَالَ تَنَقُّضُ الْجُدُرِ تَسْبِيحُهَا .

4. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad fn Ali ibn Asbat from Dawud al-Riqqiy who has said the following: "I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the meaning of the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘There is not anything that does not say Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects) and praise Him but you do not understand their Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects).’ (17:34) He (the Imam) said, ‘The breaking down of a wall is its saying Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects).”’ 

الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَعْدَانَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) اكْنُسُوا أَفْنِيَتَكُمْ وَ لَا تَشَبَّهُوا بِالْيَهُودِ .

5. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ahmad ibn Ishaq from Sa‘dan ibn Muslim from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You must sweep the yard of your house and do not become similar to the Jews.’” 

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) لَا تُؤْوُوا التُّرَابَ خَلْفَ الْبَابِ فَإِنَّهُ مَأْوَى الشَّيَاطِينِ .

6. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Asbat from his uncle Ya‘qub ibn Salim in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘You must not allow the dust to accumulate behind the door; it becomes a resort for Satans.’” 

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الصَّيْرَفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ كُلُّ بِنَاءٍ لَيْسَ بِكَفَافٍ فَهُوَ وَبَالٌ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ .

7. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Safwan ibn Yahya from abu Jamilah from Hamid al- Sayrafiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The constructions that are not within owner’s budget will be a burden for him on the Day of Judgment.’” 

عَنْهُ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ كَنْسُ الْبَيْتِ يَنْفِي الْفَقْرَ .

8. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from certain persons of his people in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Sweep the house, it removes poverty.’” 

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بَيْتاً مُظْلِماً إِلَّا بِمِصْبَاحٍ .

9. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited entering a dark house without a lamp.’” 

عَنْهُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُعَلَّى عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ شَكَتْ أَسَافِلُ الْحِيطَانِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنْ ثِقْلِ أَعَالِيهَا فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِلَيْهَا يَحْمِلُ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضاً .

10. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ibrahim ibn Ahmad al-Thaqafiy from Ali ibn al-Mu‘alla’ from Ibrahim ibn al-Khattab in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, The lower parts of the wall complained before Allah because of the weight of the upper parts and Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, inspired it saying, ‘Certain parts of you must leave the other parts.’” 

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) بَيْتُ الشَّيَاطِينِ مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ بَيْتُ الْعَنْكَبُوتِ .

11. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Salmah ibn al-Khattab from Ibrahim ibn Maymun from ‘Isa ibn ‘Abd Allah from his grandfather who has said the following: “’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The house of Satans in your houses are the spider webs.’” 

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ إِغْلَاقِ الْأَبْوَابِ وَ إِيكَاءِ الْأَوَانِي وَ إِطْفَاءِ السِّرَاجِ فَقَالَ أَغْلِقْ بَابَكَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ بَاباً وَ أَطْفِ السِّرَاجَ مِنَ الْفُوَيْسِقَةِ وَ هِيَ الْفَأْرَةُ لَا تُحْرِقْ بَيْتَكَ وَ أَوْكِ الْإِنَاءَ .وَ رُوِيَ أَنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَكْشِفُ مُخَمَّراً يَعْنِي مُغَطًّى .

12. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about closing the doors, turning the utensils around and turning-off the lamp. He (the Imam) said, ‘Close your door; Satan does not open the door, turnoff the lamp against al-Fuwaysaqah which is the mouse, do not burn your house and secure the utensils (by means of cover and so on). It is narrated that Satan does not remove the cover.’” 

أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ قَالَ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلام ) إِسْرَاجُ السِّرَاجِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ يَنْفِي الْفَقْرَ .

13. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “Al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, ‘Turning on the lamp before sunset banishes poverty.’” 

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا خَرَجَ فِي الصَّيْفِ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ خَرَجَ يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ وَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ فِي الشِّتَاءِ مِنَ الْبَرْدِ دَخَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَ رُوِيَ أَيْضاً كَانَ دُخُولُهُ وَ خُرُوجُهُ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ .

14. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that when the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, wanted to travel in summer he would leave on Thursday, and in winter because of cold enter on Friday. It also is narrated that his leaving and entering took place on a Friday night.’” 

الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ رَوَى أَبُو هَاشِمٍ الْجَعْفَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الثَّالِثِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ أَرْضِهِ بِقَاعاً تُسَمَّى الْمَرْحُومَاتِ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُدْعَى فِيهَا فَيُجِيبَ وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ جَعَلَ مِنْ أَرْضِهِ بِقَاعاً تُسَمَّى الْمُنْتَقِمَاتِ فَإِذَا كَسَبَ الرَّجُلُ مَالًا مِنْ غَيْرِ حِلِّهِ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ بُقْعَةً مِنْهَا فَأَنْفَقَهُ فِيهَا .

15. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah who has said that abu Hashim al-Ja‘fariy has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Thalith (a.s.), has said that Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has made certain areas of the earth called recipient of mercy. He has liked that He is asked for help therein so He might answer such prayers. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has made certain parts of the earth as disliked, thus if a man earns a certain amount of assets therein through unlawful ways, Allah makes a certain area to control him and spend his earnings therein.’”
