مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) الدُّهْنُ يُلَيِّنُ الْبَشَرَةَ وَ يَزِيدُ فِي الدِّمَاغِ وَ يُسَهِّلُ مَجَارِيَ الْمَاءِ وَ يُذْهِبُ الْقَشَفَ وَ يُسْفِرُ اللَّوْنَ .

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Qasim ibn Yahya from his grandfather al-Hassan ibn Rashid from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘Applying oil softens the skin, increases the ability of brain, opens the channels of water, removes the scaling and makes color to glow.”’ 

عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جُنْدَبٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ السِّمْطِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ الدُّهْنُ يَذْهَبُ بِالسُّوءِ .

2. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jundab from Sufyan ibn al-Simt who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Applying oil removes wickedness (despair).”’ 

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ الدُّهْنُ يُظْهِرُ الْغِنَى .

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Applying oil demonstrates wealth.’” 

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) الدُّهْنُ يُلَيِّنُ الْبَشَرَةَ وَ يَزِيدُ فِي الدِّمَاغِ الْقُوَّةَ وَ يُسَهِّلُ مَجَارِيَ الْمَاءِ وَ هُوَ يَذْهَبُ بِالْقَشَفِ وَ يُحَسِّنُ اللَّوْنَ .

4. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from Shu’ayb from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘Applying oil softens the skin, increases the abilities of the brain, opens the channels of water, removes the scaling and improves color (of the skin).”’ 

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ دُهْنُ اللَّيْلِ يَجْرِي فِي الْعُرُوقِ وَ يُرَوِّي الْبَشَرَةَ وَ يُبَيِّضُ الْوَجْهَ .

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Mahbub ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from abu Hamzah who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Applied oil at night flows in the veins, quenches the skin and brightens the face.’” 

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ بَحْرٍ عَنْ مِهْزَمٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ إِذَا أَخَذْتَ الدُّهْنَ عَلَى رَاحَتِكَ فَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الزَّيْنَ وَ الزِّينَةَ وَ الْمَحَبَّةَ وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّيْنِ وَ الشَّنَآنِ وَ الْمَقْتِ ثُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ عَلَى يَأْفُوخِكَ ابْدَأْ بِمَا بَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِهِ .

6. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from his father from al-Hassan ibn Bahr from Mehzam al-Asadiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When you take oil in your palm, say, ‘O Lord, I ask You to grant me grace, beauty and love. I ask from You protection against abhorrence, disgrace and anger.’ Then place it on your forehead and say whatever you can.’” 

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الدَّقَّاقِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ الدَّهَّانِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ مَنْ دَهَنَ مُؤْمِناً كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ نُوراً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ .

7. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Daqqaq from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il from Salih ibn ‘Uqbah from Bashir al-Dahhan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one applies oil on a believing person, Allah writes for every hair a light on the Day of Judgment.’”
