عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ الْحِنَّاءُ يَزِيدُ فِي مَاءِ الْوَجْهِ وَ يُكْثِرُ الشَّيْبَ .

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hisham ibn al-Hakam who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Applying hair dye with henna increases the beauty of the face as well as gray hairs.”’ 

أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) الْحِنَّاءُ يَشْعَلُ الشَّيْبَ .

2. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Applying hair dye with henna stirs up gray hairs.’” 

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) مَخْضُوباً بِالْحِنَّاءِ .

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “I saw abu Ja‘far (a.s.), had applied hair dye with henna.’” 

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ مَوْلًى لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ ( صلوات الله عليه ) يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) اخْتَضِبُوا بِالْحِنَّاءِ فَإِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَ يُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ وَ يُطَيِّبُ الرِّيحَ وَ يُسَكِّنُ الزَّوْجَةَ .

4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from Hariz from a Mawla’ of Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, who has said the following: “I once heard Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, saying that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Apply hair dye with henna, it increases eyesight, grows hair, sweetens the smell and comforts the wife.’” 

عَنْهُ عَنْ عُبْدُوسِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَغْدَادِيِّ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ الْحِنَّاءُ يَذْهَبُ بِالسَّهَكِ وَ يَزِيدُ فِي مَاءِ الْوَجْهِ وَ يُطَيِّبُ النَّكْهَةَ وَ يُحَسِّنُ الْوَلَدَ .

5. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from ‘Ubdus ibn Ibrahim al-Baghdadiy in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Applying henna dispels bad odor, increases beauty of the face, sweetens the fragrance and beautifies the child.’” 

عَنْهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ رُشَيْدٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَشْيَمَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنَّ لِي فَتَاةً قَدِ ارْتَفَعَتْ عِلَّتُهَا فَقَالَ اخْضِبْ رَأْسَهَا بِالْحِنَّاءِ فَإِنَّ الْحَيْضَ سَيَعُودُ إِلَيْهَا قَالَ فَفَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ فَعَادَ إِلَيْهَا الْحَيْضُ .

6. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ali ibn Sulayman ibn Rashid from Malik ibn ‘Ushaym from ’Isma‘il ibn Bazi‘ who has said the following: “I once said to abu al-Hassan (a.s.), ‘My young daughter does not experience Hayd (menses) anymore.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Apply hair dye to her head with henna; her Hayd (menses) will return.’ He (the narrator) has said, ‘She followed the instruction and her Hayd (menses) came back.’”
