عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ هَارُونَ بْنِ مُوَفَّقٍ الْمَدِينِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ بَعَثَ إِلَيَّ الْمَاضِي ( عليه السلام ) يَوْماً فَأَكَلْتُ عِنْدَهُ وَ أَكْثَرَ مِنَ الْحَلْوَاءِ فَقُلْتُ مَا أَكْثَرَ هَذِهِ الْحَلْوَاءَ فَقَالَ ( عليه السلام ) إِنَّا وَ شِيعَتَنَا خُلِقْنَا مِنَ الْحَلَاوَةِ فَنَحْنُ نُحِبُّ الْحَلْوَاءَ .

1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Harun ibn Muwaffaq al-Madiniy from his father who has said the following: “Once al-Madiy (the previous) abu al-Hassan ‘Alayhi al-Salam, called me for food and I ate food with him. He (the Imam) ate quite a bit of al-Halwa’ (sweet) and I said, ‘This is quite a bit of al-HalwaY He (the Imam) said, ‘I and our followers are created from sweetness; thus we like sweet.’” 

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يُرِدْ مِنَّا الْحَلْوَاءَ أَرَادَ الشَّرَابَ .

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn abu Hamzah from abu Basir who has said the following: “If one of us does not want al-Halwa’ he wants drink (which is sweet).”’ 

أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ أَكَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَوْماً فَأُتِيَ بِدَجَاجَةٍ مَحْشُوَّةٍ خَبِيصاً فَفَكَكْنَاهَا وَ أَكَلْنَاهَا .ابْنُ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ أَكَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) مِثْلَ الْخَبَرِ الْأَوَّلِ .

3. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from ibn Faddal from Yunus ibn Ya’qub from ‘Abd al-‘A’la’ who has said the following: “I once ate with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a chicken filled with Khabis (a sweet made of bread and dates). We opened and ate it.” “Ibn Faddal has narrated from Yunus ibn Ya‘qub from ‘Abd al-‘A’la’ who has said that he ate with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), like what is mentioned in the previous Hadith.” 

ابْنُ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ كُنَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْنَا اصْنَعُوا لَنَا فَالُوذَجَ وَ أَقِلُّوا فَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِ فِي قَصْعَةٍ صَغِيرَةٍ .

4. Ibn Faddal has narrated from Yunus ibn Ya’qub who has said the following: “We were in al-Madinah and abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), sent a message to us to make for him (the Imam) Faludah (a kind of sweet) of a little quantity . We then sent it to him (the Imam) in a small bowl.’”
