1ـ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْكُلَيْنِيُّ رَحِمَهُ الله حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) الْمَاءُ يُطَهِّرُ وَلاَ يُطَهَّرُ.

1. Abu Ja‘far, Muhammad ibn Ya’qub al-Kulayni (rh) has said that narrated to me Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim from his father from al- Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy, who has said the following: “Abu ’Abd Allah, Ja‘far ibn Muhammad, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Water cleanses but it is not cleanable.’” 

2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ اللُّؤْلُؤِيِّ بِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) الْمَاءُ كُلُّهُ طَاهِرٌ حَتَّى يُعْلَمَ أَنَّهُ قَذِرٌ.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya and others have narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from al-Hassan ibn al-Hassan al-Lu’lu’i through his chain of narrators has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘All water is clean until it is found out that it is not clean.”’ 

3ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْمُنْشِدِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ الْمَاءُ كُلُّهُ طَاهِرٌ حَتَّى يُعْلَمَ أَنَّهُ قَذِرٌ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan from abu Dawud al-Munshid from Ja’far ibn Muhammad from Yunus from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, that all water (from source) is clean until it is found out that it is not clean.” 

4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ مَاءِ الْبَحْرِ أَ طَهُورٌ هُوَ قَالَ نَعَمْ.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ’Isa from Yunus ibn ’Abd al-Rahman from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Is sea water clean?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘Yes, it is clean.’” 

5ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنْ مَاءِ الْبَحْرِ أَ طَهُورٌ هُوَ قَالَ نَعَمْ. 

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ’Isa from ‘Uthman ibn ’Isa from abu Bakr al-Hadramiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Is sea water clean?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘Yes, it is clean.’”
